You can make this as a super simple and quick breakfast, or bake it, which is still really easy but takes the flavors to another level of awesomeness.
I created this delicious dish from some sneak peak samples I got for the January Vegan Cuts snack box, which is full of wonderfully healthy snacks to start off your year.
The 3 snacks I used here were Mighty Leaf African Nectar rooibos tea, salted caramel peanut butter from The 3 Nuts and Manitoba Harvest hemp hearts – such an amazing combo.

If you don’t have the salted caramel peanut butter, you could get away with some plain peanut/almond/cashew butter and a drizzle of maple syrup. It won’t be quite the same, but it will be delicious in its own way.
For the super-easy version, skip baking and just let the oats soak with the hot tea for a few minutes, top with the banana and hemp hearts and dig in. A great way to do this if you have to head out in the morning is to put everything in a travel mug and bring a spoon.
I think this would be amazing with other fruits baked on top instead of banana – apple or pear are the two that pop into my mind that I’d love to try.
I hope you enjoy it, and let me know if you come up with any delicious variations!

Ingredients
- 1 African Nectar rooibos tea bag (or your tea of choice)
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1 Tbsp salted caramel peanut butter (or plain peanut butter with a teaspoon of maple syrup)
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 Tbsp hemp hearts
Directions
- Boil some water, and steep the tea in about half a cup of water for about 3 minutes.
- Pour the steeped tea onto the oats, then stir in the peanut butter. Top with the banana and put in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 15 min, or until the oats are soft and the banana is slightly browned. Sprinkle with the hemp hearts and enjoy!
