Sweet potato smoothie recipes have been floating around me for a while now, and I wanted to try one.
I love sweet potato, and thought it sounded like a new fun way to enjoy one of my favorite foods.
Mango Sweet Potato Smoothie Recipe

Makes 1 large smoothie
Plus, it’s nice to have recipes for sweet potatoes that stand on their own as snacks or breakfasts, rather than just being the side dish at a huge holiday meal.
Sweet potatoes are super nutritious on their own, but are often made with lots of sugar and heaviness around the holidays.
I’ve heard of this sweet-potato-marshmallow phenomenon, too, which I have to say as someone who didn’t grow up with that dish – it sounds pretty strange.
Anyway, making your yummy sweet potato into a smoothie is a nice healthy way to enjoy them, and as you know I love to throw fresh sprouts into anything I can, so I bumped it up another notch with them!
I was also thinking it would be really nice with a few little additions that I’ll list in the recipe…

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cooked (baked, steamed or boiled) sweet potato
- 1/2 cup mango
- 1/2 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup spinach (optional)
- 1/2 cup fresh alfalfa sprouts (optional)
- 1-2 Tbsp pure maple syrup (optional)
- 1 Tbsp nut/seed butter (optional)
- 1-2 Tbsp cocoa powder (optional)
Directions
- Put everything in a blender and puree until smooth.
