Instead of reaching for a sugary, chemical-laden sodas, try this alternative that is equally delicious.

Now, this is a super simple idea, so I don’t really want to call it a recipe, but I gave some measurements to help you get started.

When you’re buying something fizzy, try to get a soda water with reduced sodium, or a naturally sparkling water.

Prep time:
Makes a really refreshing drink

My brother has a gadget that infuses regular tap water with carbonation – so if you like to do this on a regular basis, it might be worthwhile.

For myself, I actually don’t like things too fizzy. I used to leave sodas open and drink them after they’d gone flat.

I know, I’m a bit nuts. and a bit of a party pooper on this one. But I do love making healthy soda every once in a while!

I just use some flat water in the mix, and the sparkling water still gives a nice fizz and flavor to my drink.

So here are some ideas to start you off, and I’d love to hear what fun flavors you come up with!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sparkling water or reduced sodium soda water
  • 2 slices of lime
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice

Directions

  1. Put everything in a wine or martini glass. It makes everything more fun 🙂

Other Flavor Ideas

  • Any kind of juice – mango, orange, pineapple, even tomato if you’re into that
  • Other fruits or veggies – berries, melon, cucumber
  • Herbs – mint, lavendar, basil, etc. My root beer flavors are sarsaparilla and sassafras.
  • And of course sparkling wine always makes for a nice treat, too. You don’t have to use the good stuff when you mix it with some juice, and you can get really creative beyond the typical mimosa (which is with orange juice).
