I had so much fun talking with all of the nutrition, cooking and fitness experts in the Better Health Summit 🙂 From everything I discussed this weekend, here are my thoughts on the main things to remember.

Things To Remember
- When you’re making a change in your lifestyle, aim for small steps in the right direction. Keep things simple, keep things manageable, and when you’re ready you can always take more steps.
- The most important change you can make is to eat more fresh vegetables and fruit, and shift to eating all whole foods. Focus on the positive side of adding all these nourishing and delicious foods to your life to create energy and health, rather than being on a ‘diet’.
- Experiment with trying new foods and new flavors – find the ones you really enjoy eating. Learn the basic techniques behind cooking so that you can play with the specifics of ingredients and have more fun in the kitchen making what you really want.
- Exercising and being physically active helps you feel good, and motivates you to do better in other areas of your life.
- Living a happy, healthy life is about energy. Make sure you’re eating healthy foods and being active to create energy for your body. Connect with friends and people who share your outlook to keep each other energized.
- When you understand how you can be in control of your own health, it’s so much easier to make the choice to be as healthy as you can possibly be. When you see junk food as the punishment, and healthy food as the reward, the choice is so clear.
I hope you had fun, and learned something new 🙂 Now, the only way to experience the benefits of information like what was shared here is to put it into practice.
What I want to see is for you to share a goal below, in the comments. Something you want to do or try over the next 30 days. If you leave your email, it won’t be posted publicly, but I’ll have it and I’ll email you to follow up and see if you stuck with it 😉
There are some things you might not want to say publicly, but keep in mind that sharing your goals with someone makes it real and helps you hold yourself accountable to the changes you want to make for yourself.
What are you going to work on to create better health for yourself?
I’ll start things off by sharing my goal for the next 30 days 🙂 I will give myself at least 20 minutes before going to bed without looking at a computer, and ideally doing some light yoga or meditation.
